Ten years ago we tightened up the inherent problems associated with a shake roof and siding on this house that sits under a canopy of old growth oak trees. This time the same owner asked us to reroof the house and modify the siding. We suggested Nichiha cement sidewall shingles and some different roof options. The owner then informed us that he was getting married and wanted his fiancé to be involved in the planning. The project expanded and so did our team.
Lori Stephens of Broadleaf Architecture and Wendy Beck-Nichols of Corvallis Flooring were brought in for their exterior and interior design expertise. Most of the beams pictured are from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood. The knife plate details at the entry were the amalgamation of new and previous joinery work by W.L. Construction. Our crew was thrilled to be able to express so much of our “wood loving DNA” for two such appreciative clients.
