These clients love to entertain – hosting large recruitment parties at their home. The kitchen is intregal because they like to do the food preparation themselves. As you can see from the photos above, there is an over-sized stove top and large oven to accommodate cooking large amounts of party foods. And as we all know, the kitchen is where the guests always ends up, so there’s actually room for guests to hangout and talk while dinner’s in the oven.
The house was built in the 90s and the original kitchen space was poorly designed and inadequate for the owners’ needs. It was small, tight and there was very little flow to it.
The owners are very hands on and it was great fun to collaborate with them. They’d been using that old kitchen for a number of years and had excellent ideas on what to change it to fit their lifestyle. Comparing the “before” and “after” photos, you can see that walls were removed and windows redesigned to encorporate circular countertops around the nook area, a pantry and extra large appliances. The ceilings were opened up and skylights added to create a delightful ambience.
This newly remodeled kitchen draws you in and before you know, you’re preparing a feast!
